TODAY is election day in Canada.
- If you got a voting card in the mail, take it with you to the polling place written on the back, along with a piece of photo ID (like a drivers license or passport).
- If you didn't get a card, it might be because you're not registered to vote. But you can still register today! Go to elections.ca, enter your postal code, and find your polling place. You will need 2 pieces of ID: one with a photo and something with your home address. The website has a list of what's accepted.
- If you don't have suitable ID, but you're a Canadian citizen and at least 18 years old, you can still vote! You just need a person who is an eligible voter at the same polling place, and they can sign a declaration for you.
Remember that it doesn't matter how good the polls look, you still have to vote. A poll means nothing if people don't vote. That's how we keep fascists out of our government. The rest of the world has been turning right. Let's keep Canada turning left.
